有沒有聽過“Promise me”？
這首歌曾被國內知名歌手翻唱過喔。
原唱者就是碧佛莉克萊文(Beverley Craven)…
碧佛莉1963年7月28日生於斯里蘭卡，
她的雙親來自英國約克夏郡(Yorkshire)的里茲(Leeds)，
在她一歲半的時候，全家搬到英國東南部的赫福郡(Hertfordshire)。
受到小提琴家母親的鼓勵，碧佛莉7歲開始學鋼琴，
她也擅於游泳，還曾代表赫福郡參加全國比賽。
碧佛莉在藝術學院短暫讀了一陣子後，
18歲離家搬到倫敦，找有關音樂方面的工作。
接下來幾年，她在pub與不同樂團合作。
1990年，碧佛莉發行個人首張同名專輯“Beverley Craven”。
之後，更推出了“Promise Me”、“Holding On”、“Woman To Woman”和“Memories”4首暢銷單曲。
她的嗓音、歌詞、編曲的魅力，無庸置疑。
1992年，碧佛莉獲得英國Brit獎後，
就在那年的三月，生了老大(Mollie)。
隔(1993)年， 9月，碧佛莉發行第二張專輯，“Love Scenes”。
後來，碧佛莉與她的夥伴Colin Campsie結婚，
陸續生了老二(Brenna，1995)與老三(Connie，1996)
1999年，碧佛莉發行第三張專輯，“Mixed Emotions”，
這是在她倫敦的家中錄製的，
其中一首主打歌，“I Miss You”，
個人覺得頗為耐聽。
碧佛莉在2004年辦了一場音樂會後，
隔年就被診斷出乳癌，不過經過一年的治療，
已經全然治癒。
回顧病中的日子，碧佛莉說，
「正面思考的方式，給了我生命有新的契機。
這讓我了解到，我只需要繼續作我喜愛的事。
有很長的時間，我沒有興趣坐在鋼琴前。
我完全失去那種情緒，
不過現在我又找回那種感覺，
繼續出去，給出我最好的。」
在睽別十年後，
碧佛莉在2009年終於推出新專輯“Close to Home”，
其中一首主打歌“Rainbows”，
可以看出碧佛莉這十年，
對抗乳癌而經歷極大的轉變，

她變得更柔軟，更感恩，更淡然，
不再是過去那個夢幻的女孩了。
